I finished up the base color and chipping effects. I used the hairspray technique. I'm pretty happy with the results. Next I'll add some more weathering, mud, and dust.

Vintage GHQ + Prep cleaning minis!

I just got an order of some discounted GHQ. Some of them are pretty old but the sculpts are still good looking so I don't mind. So let me give you an overview of the minis I got then I'll show you how I prep clean my minis using an ultrasonic cleaner.

2 packs of German Raketenpanzer. Iltis jeeps, and Leopard II A4's. Russian BRDM 1 Swatter and Zil 57k fuel truck. Finally American LVTP-7's.

 Lets have a closer look at the LVTP-7s!

Right out of the blister. Two turrets and one other piece. I don't know what it is!

 So this is the ultrasonic cleaner. Just add water and a bit of soap then set it for the maximum time.

It will froth with many tiny bubbles cleaning the minis very efficiently.

Here they are set on a cloth to dry before being painted. If you have any more questions about prepping minis ask away!

I was looking at my Micro Armor this week. I have continued to collect modern American units but I wasn't sure what I had. I also wanted to order some Russian units so I can actually play GHQ's Modern Micro Armor game. I ordered a Russian T-80 combat command box, Gaz tigers, and some MLRS units from Gamecraft Miniatures. Alright! A lot of stuff has been going on. I got several orders so expect a few posts over the next few days. First up is the Anit-Air units. I got a pack of Linebackers and Vulcans.

The Linebackers are an anti-air version of the Bradley. I haven't stuck the stingers on these yet but they go in that little hole on the turret.

 Based in white since I'm doing a sand theme. 

Basecoat is Middlestone from Vallejo.

My GHQ M1A1 Abrams arrived. Enjoy some pics of them fresh out of the pack, They have a bit of flashing and some extra bits.

 Incredible detail for such a small miniature.

Im Excited to get the M113's I ordered from CinC. There models cost a lot less so if they have good detail I think I'll go CinC. These 5 models from GHQ cost about $14 USD including shipping. The M113s I orderd cost $4.50 USD including shipping.
